Luca Guadagnino in negotiations with HBO for a new series
Sources have told the Observer that Guadagnino, who directed the remake of Suspiria, it would be in negotiations with the USA network for a new show in eight episodes titled " We Are Who We Are. The director, 47-year-old should direct the first two episodes and the season finale, and is writing the project with Paul Giordano and Francesca Manieri. Lawrence Meili and Riccardo Neri will be the executive producers. It is expected that the series will begin filming at the end of may.
What we know so far about We Are Who We Are is its setting, a military base in Italy, and will feature two age fourteen name Fraser Wilson and Caitlin Harper.
Fraser is a detached teenager who is from New York City. The series starts with her first impression of life on a military base (in Italian with his mother, a colonel just appointed, and his wife) while he experiences his confused feelings about his identity. Fraser then know a group of other children of the military base, and some Italian adolescent boys and girls clubs. At the end, you will be close to Caitlin, and the two embark on a period of self-discovery during the summer. Their friends think that him and Caitlin are a couple, but Fraser is missing, in reality, his friend Mark while he is in the process of developing a innocent romantic relationship with a soldier named Jason.
The character of Caitlin is difficult to describe: beautiful, at times disarming, poetic. He lived in the base with the father in the military, Richard Harper, and his mother, Jenny, in the last four years. The girl hunt, know how to use a semi-automatic rifle and is a kickboxer rather formidable. She and Fraser spend the summer to understand themselves through an intimate friendship and complicated.
HBO in every case, has yet to confirm officially this project.
