Loki: the TV series will present the new villain
The plot of time travel in Avengers: Endgame saw the heroes create an alternate time line in which Loki fled from Earth of 2012 with the Tesseract. According to what leaked, therefore, Loki will learn how to use the Tesseract to travel back in time and interfere in the events of human history.
So far, there has been much talk of the way in which the series Loki will fit in the MCU: it is said that the show will end with Loki that it jumps from one timeline to another, emerging in the main timeline of the MCU and bringing with him both the Tesseract that an alternate version of Mjolnir, allowing Jane Foster becoming Thor.
In a recent interview with MTV News, Tom Hiddleston has hinted that the story will be much more complex and will not end in the show as Loki can go back in the timeline of the MCU. “Will his talents very specific,” noted Hiddleston. “His intelligence, his sense of betrayal, his malice, his magic, and then we will encounter adversaries even more formidable, who has never seen or known.”
Hiddleston has suggested that the challenges that Loki will have to face will have a profound impact on his character. In the timeline-the official Loki has a path of redemption that has come to an end in Avengers: Infinity War. But Loki in the series is a character that is from a different background and will be armed with the Tesseract, and then we had to expect a different development for the character,
Then there is the question of who might be these “opponents, the most formidable”: they may be time travellers, which means that Loki is not the only one to attempt to rewrite the past; also in the comics the Heralds are only one of many Pantheons that have interacted with humanity; Loki might even bump into a few members of the endless, which will make their debut in the MCU on the big screen next year, and things might get even more interesting.
