Lady Oscar: the t-shirt Uniqlo dedicated to the series
The manga Lady Oscar or The rose of Versailles or versailles no bara) is the revolutionary manga of Riyoko Ikeda genre shojo set during the end of the ancien régime and the beginning of the French Revolution. It has inspired countless other manga, anime and merchandising. Now Uniqlo has created a series of t-shirts at the price $ 14,90, and the designs are really great:
Lady Oscar was serialized originally in magazine from 1972 to 1973 and then collected in volumes. The album spawned a film in international co-production, Lady Oscar (1975) directed by Jacques Demy, and an animated television series produced by Tokyo Movie Games in 1979, directed by Tadao Nagahama (the first part) and Osamu Dezaki (the second part). The original title is often abbreviated by japanese fans in Berubara.
In Italy, as in other european countries, the success of the work was determined by the transmission in the 1982 television series, for which was used the international title of Lady Oscar (borrowed from film). Since 1990, it is transmitted as A sword to Lady Oscar about Mediaset and was brought to home video by Yamato Video.
In Italy, the manga is published in October 2015 by RW Edizioni under the label Goen, in a double edition, one with cover and one without, newsstand, which will also publish special sections created for the 40th anniversary.
