Kuo: new models of MacBook Pro and Air keyboard with scissor will be launched in Q2 2020

Apple is expected to release new models of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air keyboards to scissor in the second quarter of 2020, according to a new research note the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo has not commented on the size of the new MacBook Pro, but it presumably refers to the model in 14 inch that has the previously-mentioned given that the MacBook Pro by 16-inch was released only four months ago. The new model 14-inch should probably be to replace the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Kuo expects that the new models of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air have various optimizations of the costs, but has stated that users will not notice any difference.

The current 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are still equipped with keyboards of the throttle valves that can suffer from problems such as keys sticky or who do not respond after extended use, that has pushed Apple to launch a repair program free all over the world in 2018. Apple has finally solved this problem to return to a scissor mechanism with the new Magic Keyboard on the MacBook Pro from 16 inches, which proved to be much more reliable.

The same Kuo praised the MacBook Pro's 16-inch, observing that the response of the customers to the notebook was better than expected.

With regard to the pandemic coronavirus COVID-19, Kuo believes that the operations at the providers regarding MacBook will improve significantly starting from the end of march, opening the way to the series production of the new models of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

If this information prove to be accurate, the full range of Apple notebook should include keyboards, scissor by the end of 2020.
