Kuo: Apple will launch an iPhone “Completely wireless” and “iPhone IF 2 Plus” in 2021

According to a new forecast by the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is expected to launch an iPhone high-end without a Lightning connector in the second half of 2021.

The device will presumably have a “completely wireless“, suggesting that Apple will not switch to USB-C, but rather will remove the door completely.

An excerpt from the research note of Kuo TF International Securities, obtained by MacRumors:

Apple will create a greater differentiation between the high-end models and economic models. Among the new models the iPhone by 2021, we expect that the higher end model to eliminate the door [Lightning], and provide an experience completely wireless.

At the beginning of 2021, Kuo expects that Apple will launch an “iPhone IF 2 Plus” with a design full-screen, but without Face ID. The Touch ID will be integrated into the power button.

According To Kuo:

Apple will launch the iPhone SE2 Plus in Q1 2021. We expect that the size of the display will be 5.5 or 6.1 inches. This model will take a design at full screen. The area of the notch will be smaller because of the absence of Face ID. The Touch ID will be integrated into the power button, which is located on the right side of the device.

A report of the analysts of JPMorgan at the beginning of this week says that Apple will move to a two-year cycle of release of the iPhone to help sales. It seems that the company wants to change its strategy of release of new models, launching the iPhone low-end in the spring, and the iPhone is high end in the autumn.
