Journals: new video gameplay
The Publisher 505 Games and independent developer ArtPlay today announced the release of a new demo of Journals: Ritual of the Night is available only for the backer who supported the project on Kickstarter fully financing for an amount equal to or greater than $60.
This demo, available for digital download on Steam for PC, will give fans the opportunity to test some of the content and features of the game and get a taste of the plot and the quest. The demo, shown at the recent E3 2018 held in Los Angeles at the beginning of June, put the player in some environments that are innovative, such as a ship facing the sea in storm, a village and a dark castle where you will be able to make the acquaintance of new characters and enemies.
For the first time, it will also be possible to experiment with the crafting system, the forge, alchemical and visit the shop Dominic to make the supply of valuable goods for the adventure. For the occasion, was published a new trailer, subtitled in Italian that shows some of the new content of the demo:
This action RPG is scrolling to the last work of the famous Koji Igarashi, the godfather of the genre “Igavania”. Initially launched through a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of $500,000, Journals: Ritual of the Night is soon to become the game's most funded in the history of the platform, crowdfunding, totaling over $5.5 million dollars thanks to the support of the fans.
Set at the end of the XVIII century England, an era where life of citizens is changing drastically due to the impending Industrial Revolution, Journals, tells the story of Miriam, an orphan is afflicted by the curse demon the alchemist that is slowly transforming the skin in the crystal. With the advance of the curse, Miriam enters a coma mysterious and then wake up ten years later in conjunction with the appearance of a dark castle of hell. Making his way through hordes of demons, Miriam will have to reach the castle, find a cure for his curse and kill the responsible of all this: Gebel.

The E3 is one of the largest fairs in the world dedicated to video games and was a valuable opportunity to show the new content of the Journals, allowing us to collect feedback from colleagues and journalists who have tried the demo. Now we are finally ready to show the new content, and the novelty of the title to our fantastic community of backer, in order to receive their feedback, that we will be incredibly useful in our journey towards the launch of the game.
Journals: Ritual of the Night is in development for PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, Steam and Xbox One under the direction of Koji Igarashi (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night). The game's soundtrack will be performed by Michiru Yamane (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Super Smash Bros.) and Ippo Yamada (Resident Evil, Mega Man). The backer who funded the game with a sum of at least 60$ can access the demo by redeeming the code via Steam.
