Jony Ive will leave Apple at the end of the year to establish his own company

Apple has announced via a press release that Jony Ive, Chief Design Officer of Apple, will not be dependent on Apple to partine from the end of the year. Ive formed a design firm that will have Apple as a primary customer.

Jony Ive, 30 years since his first day of work, you will not be dependent on Apple, but will continue to collaborate closely and on a series of projects with Apple in addition to the care of other personal projects.

“Jony is a singular figure in the world of design and its role in the awakening of Apple cannot be overstated, from the revolutionary iMac to the iPhone, 1998 and the ambition without the previous Apple Park, where he has recently put a lot of energy and care.” said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. “Apple will continue to benefit from the talents of Jony working directly with him on projects exclusive, and through the continuous work of brilliant and passionate design team that built it. After many years of working closely together, they are happy that our relationship continues to evolve and I can't wait to work with Jony for the future.”

Evans Hankey, vice president of Industrial Design, and Alan Dye, vice president of Human Interface Design, will report to Jeff Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Apple. Is Dye that Hankey have served for many years in key roles in the design team of Apple. Williams has led the development of the Apple Watch since its inception, and dedicated much of his time working with the design team in their studio.

“After almost 30 years and countless projects, I am very proud of the lasting work we have done to create a design team, process and culture in Apple without equal. Today is stronger, more vibrant, and more talented than in any point in Apple's history,” said Ive. “The team surely will thrive under the excellent leadership of Evans, Alan and Jeff, who were among my closest collaborators. I have the utmost confidence in my colleagues designers of Apple, who remain my best friends, and I can't wait to work with them for many years to come.”

In short, Jony Ive will not be directly an employee of Apple but it will work anyway in secret projects with the company, as it has done until now. As already stated by Apple, Ive will form a new company, which will have the name of LoveFrom, a name that would seem to be the son of Jobs, as stated by Ive in an interview with the Financial Times:

“There was an employee who met a number of years ago, and Steve [Jobs] was talking about. . . He [said] that one of the key motivators was that when you do something with love and care, even if probably you don't you will ever encounter. . . the people for whom you're doing it, to which you make never the hand, doing something with care, you're expressing your gratitude to humanity, to the species.

I so identified with that motivation, and I was moved by his description. Then my new business will be called ‘LoveFrom’. Speaks succinctly of why I do what I do.
