John is the new emulator Game Boy on the Apple Watch
The developer Gabriel O'flaherty-Chan has made a new emulator of the beloved Game Boy. Thanks to it we can play many titles Nintendo directly from our Apple Watch!
John is the name of the new emulator for the Apple Watch. According to the developer, Gabriel O'flaherty-Chan the name has been taken by an antagonist of the famous series, Pokémon, the output on this console. Currently the emulator is still a prototype, but its source code is already uploaded to GitHub, allowing other developers to work on it.
Definitely the largest difficulty for the realization of an emulator of this type has been to combine the various input types available on the smartwatch Apple. To interact with the Game Boy emulated, we will use the crown digital for the buttons “Up” and “Down”, swipe to the left and right keys in the appropriate direction, for the keys “A”, “B”, “SELECT” and “START” instead we will have a dedicated space directly on the display of the device.
Since this is still a project in its initial phase, we recommend you wait until a more stable version of the emulator. The developer hopes, in fact, to optimize it and release a stable version on watchOS 4 coming this fall.
