Jeff Lemire and Mike Deodato Jr. set for Berserker Unbound
Dark Horse has announced today the launch of the new series by Jeff Lemire (Black Hammer) and Mike Deodato Jr. titled Berserker Unbound.
The series will have as its protagonist a barbarian that is thrown in our days, and you will find her in spite of themselves to defend this strange new world by an evil magician.
The announcement of the new comes a few hours from the one done by Mike Deodato Jr. that confirmed that he will leave the Marvel universe after more than 20 years, at the end of his run on the Savage Avengers.
Lemire has immediately talked about the new series:
“As soon as I started working with Mike on Thanos, I knew it was the beginning of a fruitful collaboration. We immediately discussed the possibility of doing something together at the level of the series is creator-owned. Mike is a designer amazing and with the Berserker Unbound I tried to shape the story on its salient points. There is magic, action, blood but also the heart. Not everything that appears will be how it looks. We are both very excited to work for Dark Horse with Frank Martin, and Steve Wands, and build the world of the Berserker and his unfortunate companion, Cobb.”
Deodato has added:
“I've always wanted to draw a story starring a barbarian, and Jeff has turned this dream into reality with a deep story, emotional of friendship through the dimensions. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the battles are the most epic that I designed are in this series! Berserker Unbound is the turning point of my career.”
