Variety has confirmed the recent rumours according to which Danny Boyle is writing the new James Bond film with John Hodge, his collaborator on Trainspotting 1 and 2.

Boyle said: “We are working on the script. It all depends on that. I'm working on another film at the moment, from a screenplay by Richard Curtis, and we hope to start shooting in six or seven weeks. In this way, I could work on the Bond by the end of the year. But we're working on both films at the time. I and John Hodge we have an idea, and John is writing the screenplay. It all depends on how it will be. It would be stupid on my part to do the longer wheelbase of the leg.”

Daniel Craig will return for the last time in the role of James Bond.

Boyle proposed the idea for a history of James Bond Craig when the director directed the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. During the ceremony was broadcast a movie in which Craig, in the role of 007, he met the Queen of England.

Boyle won the Oscar for directing Slumdog Millionaire, and is known for having directed the horror film 28 days later, the sci-fi Sunshine, 127 Hours, the trap-movie with James Franco based on a true story, the biopic of Steve Jobs.

The film will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, already writers of Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre, and should be taken from The dreams don't kill, written by Raymond Benson and published in 1999. The villain will be the blind Pierre Rodiac. Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista should be back in the role of villain interpreted in the previous Spectre.

Beyonce would be in talks to sing the main song of the new film.
