iPhone 11 vs iPhone XR: what are the differences?
Apple this week unveiled the iPhone 11, the successor of the iPhone XR. At first glance, the two devices have some similarities, but the iPhone 11 is a step forward with regard to the cameras, battery life, and more.
The iPhone 11 that has a design very similar in glass and aluminum, like the iPhone, XR, the big visual difference is the new system of rear camera dual lens housed in a large, bump the square of the camera. On the back of the iPhone 11, the Apple logo was centered, and the trademark “iPhone” is no longer shown.
If it were not for these details, it would be almost the same, including display, frames, notch, and bands of the antenna, the volume buttons and the side, silent switch, speaker grilles, and microphones. The iPhone 11 that has a Lightning connector.
The iPhone 11 is available in six colors, including the new options green, purple, and slightly optimized, white, black, yellow and (PRODUCT) RED.
Both devices weigh a little less than half a kilo and have identical dimensions.
The iPhone 11 has the same LCD display, 6.1-inch display of the iPhone XR, including a resolution of 1792 × 828 pixels for 326 pixels per inch, the maximum brightness of 625 nits and support of the colour range of True Tone, and P3. The LCD panel reduces the costs compared to the OLED display of the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Like the iPhone, XR, the iPhone 11 is based on a Haptic Touch-based software for contextual menus and links. Unlike the iPhone more old, there is no layer 3D Touch-pressure-sensitive integrated in the display of the iPhone 11.
The iPhone 11 is powered by the latest chip, the Aic's Bionic Apple, which is said to be the fastest CPU of any smartphone ever.
Based on the architecture to 7 nanometers, the A13 Bionic features four cores for high-efficiency, which are up to 20 percent faster and consume 40 percent less energy compared to the A12 Bionic, and two core high-performance that are up to 20 percent faster and 30 percent more efficient than the previous chip.
Apple says that the iPhone 11 has a battery life of up to an hour more than the iPhone XR in general. Based on internal testing of Apple, the iPhone 11 is rated for a maximum of 17 hours of video playback offline, up to 10 hours of streaming video via Wi-Fi and up to 65 hours of audio playback per charge.
Like the iPhone, XR, the iPhone 11 supports wireless charging based on Qi, as well as a quick charge up to a 50% charge in 30 minutes with a charger, USB C-18 W or higher. Unfortunately, Apple still includes the same old charger 5 W, and the Lightning to USB cable-a TO iPhone, 11.
The system of rear cameras is the biggest upgrade of the iPhone 11, compared to the iPhone XR. The wide angle lens ƒ / 1.8, it is now accompanied by a ultra wide-angle lens ƒ / 2.4 for a visual field of 120 °. The lens ultra-wide-angle lens allows users to “reduce” to “0.5 x”, and capture four times more scenes, according to Apple.
The wide angle lens also has a sensor up to date which enable the night mode for pictures in low light conditions greatly improved, brighter and with less noise. This function is similar to the Night Sight on the latest smartphones Pixels Google.
The Neural Engine of the third generation of iPhone 11 allows Smart HDR the next generation of photo more natural. And coming this fall, will enable a new system to Deep Fusion, which uses machine learning and advanced for processing the pixel of the photo, including texture, detail and noise.
The Portrait mode on the iPhone 11 works not only with human faces, but also with objects and pets. While this was already possible on the iPhone X, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max, Portrait mode on the iPhone XR is able to detect only human beings, even if some of the apps of third-party cameras such as Halide also work with objects and pets.
There are six lighting effects available in portrait mode on the iPhone 11, including Natural, Firm, Contour, Stage, Stage, Mono -, and High-Key Mono. This three on iPhone XR: Natural, Firm, and Contour.
And exclusive for the entire iPhone range 11, now there is the video recording slo-mo front at 120 FPS.
With Wi-Fi 802.11 ax and LTE-class Gigabit, the iPhone 11 has theoretically download speed of the most high, but the performance of the real world are generally limited by multiple factors such as the location and management of the network.
The iPhone 11 also features a new chip U1 designed by Apple that allows for the support of the ultra-wideband for a better awareness of the space. The chip allows the iPhone 11 to accurately locate other Apple devices with U1, as the other iPhone models 11 and, reportedly, the tracking tag objects that are similar to Tile Apple.
Apple says that the chip U1 “will lead to incredible new abilities.” When iOS 13.1 will be released on the 30th of September, for example, users will be able to target the iPhone 11 on another user's iPhone to send via AirDrop a file.
The iPhone 11 is available with storage capacity from 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB, respectively, to 839€, 889€ 1009€. Costs 50€ less than the iPhone XR, which at the time of the launch it was also available with a storage capacity of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB, respectively, to 889€, 949€ 1059€.
Apple continues to sell the iPhone XR, which is now part from 739€, but the 256gb model is out of production.
Even if the iPhone 11 there is a big step forward compared to the iPhone XR users who take may be compelled to buy the new model thanks to the update of the camera. On the whole, however, the iPhone XR remains probably the best iPhone for most people, especially at its reduced price of 739€.
