Apple is developing an accessory similar to the Tile that will help users keep track of their personal belongings, such as keys, wallets, and backpacks, according to some of the details discovered nellai n iOS 13 unearthed by MacRumors.
The build interior contains an image of the accessory, which suggests that it will be a small tag circular with an Apple logo in the center, similar to many other trackers Bluetooth. The image may be a model or a placeholder, however, so the final design of the tag can vary.
This image is similar to that shared by Guilherme Rambo of 9to5Mac, which was the first to reveal the plans of Apple for this product in April.
MacRumors can confirm that the tags have the code name “B389” within Apple, and there are many strings that are a tribute to the purpose of this product, tag your items with B389 and not lose it again“.
The tags will be closely integrated with the new app Where the iOS 13, which has combined the previous applications Find my iPhone and Find my friends in a single app. Although not available in the public beta releases of iOS 13, the build internal contains a new “Items” tab in the app Where it is to keep track of the position of the personal effects.
Users will receive a notification when you separate it from an element with a tag, according to the strings in the bundle within the app Where it is. If needed, users can then tap a button in the app that will make the tag of Apple beginning to emit an audible signal to help locate the item lost.
You can set the “safe position” in which the user will not be notified if this object is left in such positions, and users will also be able to share your location with friends and family, according to the strings of iOS 13.
If users are not able to find an object, they can place the tag attached in the Mode “lost“. Maybe the stranger will be warned with a notification on the app Where it is on your iPhone when you have found a lost object. Also the owner of the article will be notified.
Also, augmented reality will play an important role in the functionality of tracking of the items of Apple.
As the Pixie Tracker app, Where is will probably be the functionality from the platform ARKit Apple. Build internal iOS 13 includes a resource for a red balloon 3D that could help a user locate a lost object after scanning a room with your iPhone. There is also the image of a balloon orange 2D.
“Walk several meters and move your iPhone up and down until a balloon appears,“ says a string in the package inside the app Where it is.
There are also strings that suggest that the tag Apple will be equipped with a removable battery, which would probably be a button cell, or small battery circular that are found in many watches and the latest tracker Tile. You receive a low battery warning that requires the tag to send a final position of the article to which it is attached.
“Unscrew the rear element and remove the battery,” says another string in the package inside the app Where it is.
Another image discovery shows what is likely to be displayed to users when they open for the first time, the “Items” tab in the Find my app.
This build internal iOS 13 June, therefore we can not guarantee that the “Items” tab, or all, of the details presented above are exactly as described. The icon for the tab “People” has already been slightly modified in subsequent iOS beta 13, for example, then there will certainly be some small changes.
