IOS 10.2.1 alerts us if our battery is at the end of its life cycle
Apple has added another new feature within iOS 10.2.1, that has not yet been reported in our changelog. In addition to solve the sudden shutdown of iPhone 6 and 6s, the iOS 10.2.1 presents a feature, that indicates the status of the health of our battery.
As we can read on the official website of Apple, iOS 10.2.1 introduces a new feature that can detect the status of the battery. The warning, “The battery of the iPhone may require technical assistance.” appears in Settings > battery when the Battery of our device approaches the end of its life cycle.
Using the diagnostics in the iOS, it was found that the iPhone battery might need to be replaced. When a battery approaches the end of its life cycle, the amount of charge and the ability to provide energy is reduced. Accordingly, a battery may need to be recharged very frequently and on the iPhone you may experience shutdowns unexpected.
This is not a security problem, it is only to inform you that you may need to replace the battery. You can continue to use the iPhone until the battery is not checked.
In addition, Apple has updated the changelog of iOS 10.2.1 by adding the item: “Improve the management of power during peak workloads to avoid shutdowns unexpected of the iPhone”.
