In This Corner of the World, confirmed the extended version of the film
In the occasion of an event to celebrate the first anniversary of the release of the japanese film, the producer Taro Maki has confirmed that In This Corner of the World will enjoy an extended version, which is currently working on the director Sunao Katabuchi.
At the moment the staff of the makers of the film has not yet scheduled the release of the new edition of the film.
In Italy In This Corner of the World is released in cinemas on 19 and 20 September 2017 distributed by Nexo Digital; Dynit will publish the edition home video of the film in the first months of 2018.
“Taken from the manga Fumiyo Kouno published on the magazine Weekly Manga Action Manga, the film tells the story of Suzu Urano in Kure, Hiroshima, japan, during the Second World War.
The protagonist is a young japanese man, a dreamer and full of life, that must be married to an employee of the Ministry of Justice in the city of Kure just before the release of the atomic bomb, in the dramatic days of the conflict that has marked in a profound and indelible in the history of Japan.
In Kure, Suzu meets a new friend, Rin Shiroki, a new family, a new city, and, finally, the new world.
The film won the prestigious prize for Animation of the Year at the 40th edition of the Japan Academy Prize, the so-called academy Awards of the Japanese, competing against giants such as Your Name., Rudolph to Ippaiattena, and One Piece Movie Gold. And in June it also won the prestigious Jury Prize at the Festival d'annecy.”
