Make liveable small spaces is one of the prerogatives of IKEA, you know. It all started some time ago, when IKEA has sent a designer, Christina Levenborn, to live in the Mars Desert Research Station. It is a base located in the Utah desert that simulates, to the extent possible, the conditions of life on the red planet; one of the many projects that seek to anticipate problems and solutions of daily life on other planets, such as the simulated trip to the Moon experienced in Russia.
Initially, the aim of the designers was to find inspiration in the design of furniture that were suitable for small flats.
