iFixit performs teardown of the MacBook Pro by 16-inch [Video]
Before that iFixit performed the teardown of the complete MacBook Pro 16-inch, he opened the notebook to take a look at the new Magic Keyboard.
Here's how Apple describes the new Magic Keyboard in the MacBook Pro by 16-inch:
The new keyboard Magic has a fine scissor mechanism with a stroke of 1 mm for a typing experience responsive, comfortable and quiet. The Touch Bar gives you powerful shortcuts front and center, and the Touch ID provides an authentication quick. An Escape key dedicated allows quick switching between modes and views, and the arrow keys to the T inverted to allow a fluid navigation.
iFixit notes that, as expected, the keys to scissor the Magic Keyboard are very easy to extract. This means that it will be easy for users to eliminate any debris which accumulate over time.
And the keys have the same size as the Magic Keyboard, stand-alone, making it possible to fit the white keys on the MacBook Pro by 16-inch. However, the keys on the keyboard and the stand-alone are slightly thicker than those on the notebook.
iFixit said that the stroke of the keys 1 mm is really good. When you compare the mechanisms scissor, the Magic Keyboard stand-alone has a thickness that is slightly different with respect to the mechanisms of the MacBook Pro. iFixit notes that they both seem strong and durable.
All in all, iFixit is pretty sure that the problems of the keyboard of the MacBook should be resolved with the return to the keyboard in a scissors bite.
