Hugh Jackman has rejected the role of James Bond
Interviewed by Variety, Hugh Jackman, actor of Wolverine in the X-Men Universe film at Fox, said: “I Was going to start X-Men 2, and I received a phone call from my agent asking me if I was interested in doing James Bond. At the time I thought that the scripts had become unviable and tawdry, and I wanted to be more realistic. He told me: ‘you do Not have a voice on this. You just have to decide whether to do it or not.’ I was also worried that, between Bond and the X-Men, I would not have had the time to do things different.”
Daniel Craig will return to play James Bond in the new film of the saga.
It will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, already writers of Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre, and should be taken from The dreams don't kill, written by Raymond Benson and published in 1999. The villain will be the blind Pierre Rodiac. Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista should be back in the role of villain interpreted in the previous Spectre.
