HTC tries the re-launch in 2019, but the formula leaves some doubt
HTC is going through a period of particularly stormy, characterized by a slow recovery on a monthly basis, and a collapse without end, on an annual basis, that will take the taiwanese company to close the year 2018 without having reached the milestone of one billion dollars turnover in a year, for the first time in 10 years.
The foundations of the society do not appear very solid and the future is uncertain. Fortunately, Darren Chen, the president of the company, seems to have a plan to revitalise the HTC in the course of 2019 and increase its market share in the field of smartphones. The strategy seems to be quite simple: focus exclusively on the top and the average of the range, leaving out segments of the market extremely competitive, as the entry level.
To implement this plan and reduce costs to a minimum, HTC will extend the life cycle of its products of the series U12 already in the trade, such as the top of the range U12+ and the medium-range U12 Life (recently presented in version to 128GB), along with the fresh presentation Desire 12s, with which the house taiwanese aims to attack the segment of the mid range during the festivities of the chinese new year. Pity that the smartphone in question is based on a Snapdragon 435, a proposal of a quite different segment of the market and very little competitive in a market like the asian one.Today one of the best buys in the mid-range?
