Hellboy: the manufacturer open to more sequels
Speaking with Collider during a visit to the set of the film in Bulgaria, the producer of Hellboy, Lloyd Levin says that the team is planning the sequel, but in a “very vague”.
According to Levin, is not a “cut and paste” in which it suffices to add the number 2, but have scaled back the ways of how it would be a sequel if they followed the original material: “Not in the sense that the no. 2 will this is no. 3 will be the one”, he anticipates Levin. “But you can understand it by yourself. If this starts with hunting, wild, the way is traced from there in the comic books on where to go.”
The reboot of the Hellboy could draw inspiration from the successes of the printed version, therefore, as The lure of Darkness, The wild hunts and the two series are interconnected, The storm and The fury. If the movies follow the comic books, a direct sequel would address the death of Big Red in the plot of Hellboy in Hell.
When we speak of the role of David Harbour in Hellboy, the writer Mike Mignola says that the version is more adult: “In the films of del Toro, Hellboy is a bit messed up, and kept it a secret, and that's not what we have here [in the movie],” says Mignola.
The film arrives in cinemas on the 11th of April 2019.
