Google is developing systems that are able to provide location information and navigation inside public places (these are also certainly very much appreciated by the police during the investigation, see our article of this morning) and thanks to Android 9 Pie has played important steps in this direction thanks to the inclusion of WiFi RTT (Round Trip Time).

It is perhaps one of the new, less exploited, and notes between the ones available on the Android Pie, but that Google is continuing to develop and that is going to make it available in all those places where there are routers with WiFi 802.11 technology mc, necessary for the localization in the interior with an accuracy of about 1-2 metres. There is, in fact, need at least 3 of these access points to gain access to the system of triangulation, however, the entire process of localization is still in the testing phase.

To facilitate the adoption and development of applications and services related to this technology, Google has released a new test application called WifiRttScan App, published through the account Developed with Google. This has no utility for the end user and is more directed to the creation of testing instruments, universities and many other entities that want to work in the development of solutions for RTT. Anyway if you want to download it just for curiosity you can find it on the Play Store at the link just below.Camera Wide for excellence?
