Google Assistant: employees listen to a part of the conversations

Human beings listen to certain interactions voice with Google's Assistant, which are recorded automatically. The newspaper of the belgian VRT NWS says that, thanks to an informant, has had the opportunity to listen to more than a thousand entries; at least one contained sensitive personal data - the address of a couple and detailed information on their respective families.

Google has explained that a small part (0.2%) of the recordings is entrusted to a group of employees to human for a more complete and detailed, in order to improve the capacity of Assistant to understand voice commands. Google says that transcribe conversations in different languages is critical to develop an AI capable of understanding the greatest possible number of languages, dialects and accents. The company says that employees must write down only the sentences addressed directly to the Assistant, not conversations or other background noise.

Google makes no secret of the fact that conversations with Assistant are recorded. The recorded data is not associated with user names, but this system has at least a couple of weak points: first, conversing with the virtual assistant of a user may disclose sensitive personal information, such as names, addresses, bank details or credit card numbers; second, not all conversations are voluntary: it may happen that the Assistant believes to have heard a wake-up command ("OK Google" or "Hey Google"), which in fact was not pronounced by the user.The Battery on the Phone less than 150€?
