Godzilla vs. Kong will be set in the present and will be a direct sequel to Godzilla 2
Interviewed by /Film, Adam Wingard (Blair Witch, Death Note), the director of Godzilla vs. Kong, said: “The film will be in continuity with the sequel to Godzilla. Mike Dougherty is touring Godzilla: King of Monsters, and so our film is set in the present. A couple of the characters in Godzilla 2 will appear in our film. It will be interesting to see how it fared Kong in the course of the years. In the original film, King Kong is always under attack. Things go wrong and there have been many human interference. It will be interesting to see a Kong the most old and solid.”
The Legendary has put together the team of scriptwriters and for laying the foundations of the crossover. The team is composed by Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean), Patrick McKay & J. D. Payne (Star Trek Beyond), Lindsey Beer (The Chronicles of the murderer of the king), Cat Vasko (the Queen of the Air), T. S. Nowlin (the Maze Runner – The Labyrinth, Pacific Rim Uprising) and the Michael J. edit] after (Thor, World War Z).
