Legendary Entertainment and the AfterShock of “the Media” have optioned " God, Country, comics of 2017 created by Cates and artist Geoff Shaw and published by Image Comics, to make a movie about it, with Cates, who will be also responsible for the screenplay. For the AfterShock is the first time that you adapted a comic book to another house.

THR had the scoop and Cates on Twitter seems to also want to clean up his image, cheeky, tomboy, before his big hollywood adventure:

The story sees Emmet Quinlan, an old widower suffering from dementia, which is not only a problem for his children, given that his violent explosions of rage are more than the local cops they can manage. When a tornado destroys his home, as well as the city of West Texas, a new Quinlan returns from the disaster, armed with a sword enchanted that makes him the only man able to deal with the creatures otherworldly sword that has attracted in Texas...
