Go Nagai made a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters
The Japan Expo of this year has been the bearer of great news to many manga and anime celebrities, but it was also the occasion for the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of france to bestow the master Go Nagai, the creator of the works passed to the history as Devilman, Mazinger and Goldrake, the title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (in French Ordre des arts et des lettres).
The order is intended to “people who are distinguished for their creations in the field of art or literature, for the contribution they have made to the spread of arts and letters in France and in the world”. And Go Nagai is part of the full title in this category, having with his works collected in France a success almost equal to what we had in our Country and having contributed to introduce the japanese works to the public at large (it is sufficient to mention the fame that he still has today, Grendizer, known in France as Goldorak).
