Gmail for iOS supports finally the Dark Mode

Google today updated its Gmail app for iPhone and iPad on the App Store with support for the Dark Mode at the system level.

The release notes that accompany the latest version does not mention support for the Dark Mode. The only feature mentioned is support for offline search, which lets you search for emails even without an Internet connection.

Support for Dark Mode in Gmail works just like in other apps for iPhone and iPad: just activate the mode in the Settings or control Center, and Gmail takes immediately a dark side. In addition, there are manual controls in-app to control the Dark Mode.

Opening up the settings app and going in the Theme section, we can choose between Light or Dark theme, or choose the Default system to make sure that the app respects the settings of the dark Mode at the system level.

The foundation for the support of the dark mode were probably added in previous versions of Gmail and the company has now started to implement it gradually.
