Gideon Falls: the comic horror of Lemire & Sorrentino becomes a TV series
Directly from the comic to the small screen. The new series by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino, entitled Gideon Falls, the first issue of which was published by Image Comics just a few months ago, has already been optioned for a television production.
To buy the rights was the Hivemind, a new production company founded by Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, from a member of Bad Robot's Kathy Lingg and the former ceo of Valiant Entertainment Dinesh Shamdasani.
Hivemind has already produced for Netflix adaptation of the video game the Witcher, and has in the works, with Guillermo del Toro and André Øvredal, an adaptation of the stories Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
Gideon Falls is a horror rural starring a young man obsessed by a conspiracy within their own country, a priest's drift arrived in a city full of mysteries, and a sheriff inflexible. The whole is interwoven with the legend of the Black Barn, building a mystical, ancient, capable of bringing death and madness.
Gideon Falls has already received critical acclaim and has been defined by Mark Millar, “the best comic book series of the 2018”.
Jeff Lemire said:”It's great to imagine Gideon Falls adapted to a transposition of the television, with all the corollary of characters from the comic on which I and Sorrentino have worked hard”.
