Galaxy S10: the fingerprint scanner will improve with future updates
The fingerprint scanner digital ultrasound of the Samsung Galaxy S10 (and S10 Plus) will continue to be enhanced with future updates of the system, says Samsung to the average south Korean. The declaration stems from the increase in the number of complaints online of some early adopters, that after about a week of use believe that the performance of the scanner are below expectations - and that tend to worsen significantly in certain conditions. In particular, it seems that the scan is less accurate when the environment or the user's hands are very dry, or when there are small cuts or scratches on the hand. It is worth noting that these are only the opinions of a group of users: others do not report defects or complications.
Samsung has already released the first software update for the family of S10 (in South Korea, at least); among the improvements, says the company, there are a few just for the fingerprint scanner. Remember that S10 is among the first devices to use the scanner with ultrasonic technology, which had a gestation period particularly long. The system is able to perceive with precision every groove and imperfection of the finger by analyzing how to "bounce" the ultrasound on it. It is a technology which on paper promises to be much more precise, fast and safe for the optics, used in most of the fingerprint scanner below the display in the market today.
