From Qualcomm comes the Quick Charge 3+, quick-charging advanced for the mid-range Android Blog Italy.

Qualcomm is probably most known for its SoC, ARM designed for smartphones and tablets Android. However, a SoC is not formed only by the CPU and the GPU but can also count on the wi-fi module and Bluetooth, the radio modem 4G/5G, on-chip image processing and also on the chip for voltage regulation for the charging of the battery. In short, a System-on-Chip is a real computer. In this regard, we point out that has been announced and the new technology Qualcmm Quick Charge, 3+ for mid-range smartphone.

With Quick Charge 3+, Qualcomm is aiming to bring its technology fast charging cable on the mid-range smartphone. This new technology is meant to replace the Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 without a significant increase in the overall price.

Qualcomm says that the new technology allows you to charge a device 0-50% in 15 minutes, 35% faster than the previous generation (presumably Quick Charge 3.0).

Qualcomm says that their new charging technology can keep a device of 9° C colder than before during the charging process. These numbers are based on reference data of a single integrated circuit and a design of the card / battery appropriate”, although Qualcomm has not revealed more details about the setup used to produce these data.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 3+ supports cable standard USB-a TO USB-C, as well as accessories that support voltage scalable in increments of 20 mV, a feature which Qualcomm calls Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV).

We note that Qualcomm Quick Charge 3+ is backward compatible with the versions Quick Charge earlier, then the new accessories based on the new standard can still quickly load the older devices.

This technology is already supported by the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G but it will be supported also on the new mobile platforms Snapdragon processor that will be introduced by the end of the year. The technology is supported by two new PMIC: SMB1395 and SMB1396. These PMIC enable OEMS to implement QC3+ using the same software implementation without the need of a chip overvoltage protection (OVP), external, or a sense resistor.

The new I 10 Lite Zoom Xiaomi, also known as the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition in China, it is the first device to simultaneously support both Qualcomm Quick Charge 3+ that Quick Charge 4+. We can expect that other devices will be launched by the end of the year with the QC 3+ of Qualcomm.
