Flashpoint: Barry Allen will be similar to Peter Parker
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the screenwriters of Spider-Man: Homecoming, will direct Flashpoint, the new film from DC Comics, Warner Bros..
The two were interviewed by Collider and revealed how he has been entrusted with the new project.
Daley: “they showed Us a list of properties of DC and they asked us if we cared about something. Not have promised us anything.”
Goldstein: “they Were interested in us because we have direct Game Night and we wrote a Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thanks to those two movies, we have proposed to work on one of their properties. We have read a number of scripts, including Flashpoint. We're big fans of the character. Collected comics when I was a child. It was an exciting opportunity.”
“It’ s a unique character among all the super heroes and must not be perfect as Superman. It's a superhero more realistic. It is identifiable as the Peter Parker in the Marvel movies.”
The new screenplay of Flashpoint was written by Joby Harold (King Arthur: the Power of The Sword, the next Robin Hood).
Phil Lord and Chris Miller, directors of The LEGO Movie, had been hired by Warner Bros. to write and possibly direct the film. After the first treatment, however they abandoned the project to devote himself to film Star Wars on the young Han solo from which they were recently made redundant.
Director of Flashpoint had taken over Seth Grahame-Smith (author of the novels The Legend of the Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), which he left last year to creative differences.
And then touched Rick Famuyiwa take over the reins of the film, but has also left him always creative differences.
The film will be in the cast Ezra Miller in the role of Barry Allen, Kiersey Clemon will play Iris West, Billy Crudup (Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen) will be the father of Barry. Ray Fisher and Gal In will appear in the role of Cyborg, and Wonder Woman. The Enemies (Rogues) should be the villain of the film. Ben Affleck could appear in the role of Batman.
Flash was introduced in the DC Universe movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, appeared in Suicide Squad and is back in the Justice League.
