Sony has had to close the factory, producing components for cameras of smartphones because of the earthquake of Kumamoto, which has caused a variety of damages, the injured and the dead in Japan. At the moment it is not clear how can be strong the consequences of the earthquake in the production of the components; the components used by Apple in the creation of the camera for the iPhone.

The earthquake that struck Japan could have done even more damage than we know. In addition to the wounded and to the victims affected by the disasters, the economy also suffers. Following the two strong quakes that have occurred in Kumamoto, Sony has had to close his factory. Sony has ensured that the employees are safe and said to be able to maintain stable supplies, for the moment, thanks to the inventory in stock.

It is not clear when the factory will reopen and return to work at full capacity and, of consenguenza, it is not clear yet what will be the impact of the earthquake on the production of the sensors in the near future. It is worth noting that Sony supplies components photo many producers (about 40% of the market), Apple included.

In any case, the company agreed to update its release in case of problems. We will update you if we learn more.
