Doctor Who: the board of Tennant to the Whittaker
Recently, David Tennant has spoken with The Guardian of his recent work. When asked if he had any advice Jodie Whittaker before he made his debut as the thirteenth doctor, Tennant has admitted he warned the actress to the reputation of the role:
“For some people, you'll always be the Doctor, that is a wonderful thing and a humbling thing, but it means accepting a change in your life,” explained the actor, “you have to be ready for that. It is a unique experience and there is a very small group that knows how it feels. You should never give advice on how to interpret a part. The acting is what you go to acting school. You can only help for the rest”.
Continuing, Tennant has praised Whittaker for his interpretation of the Doctor, and he made sure to contest the dispute at the start, which has sparked the decision to submit a Doctor: “Jodie has been a choice that was so exciting. They are enormously proud of how much success he has had... The inclusion has always been one of the strengths of Doctor Who”.
The rest agree with the Thirteenth Doctor is good and the season debut of the character has obtained the highest average score of any season of Doctor Who since 2010.
