Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – Sam Raimi is the director
A few months ago it was leaked that the director of the trilogy of Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire, Sam Raimi would be back in the world of comics for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; and some fans may remember that the writer / director has mentioned the wizard in one of these movies. Now the director has officially confirmed his role.
As they chatted with Raimi for his upcoming horror series 50 States of Fright, ComingSoon.net reflected with Raimi on the scene where Jonah Jameson Simmons, and Ted Hoffman Ted Raimi discuss possible names for the evil character of doctor Otto Octavius, doctor Octopus. Hoffman mentions Dr. Strange, Jameson appreciates, but note that it was already taken, apparently referring to the wizard Marvel.
“I loved Doctor Strange as a child, but I was always looking for Spider-Man and Batman, it was probably the number five for me of the great comic characters,” explained Raimi. “It was so original, but when we had that moment in Spider-Man 2 I had no idea that we would have never made a movie about Doctor Strange, so it was really fun for me, which is coincidentally the joke was in the movie. I have to say that I wanted to have the foresight to know that I would have been involved in the project”.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will arrive in theaters on may 7, 2021.
