Divinity: Original Sin 2 returns to show the excellent fantasy setting created by Larian Studios

One of the wonders of recent years is the creation of the program Early Access to Steam, a feature of the system, the Valve that allows you to follow the development of a video game, affecting, in small part, to the work of the developers with their critical contribution. Personally, there are few titles that convinced me to join this program, but one in particular has had difficulty in making myself run on Steam in order to see it grow: Divinity: Original Sin 2! Strong of a good experience with the first chapter of the saga of Larian Studios, I have been easily conquer by this second foray into the fantasy world of Divinity.

It is not necessary to have played the first Divinity to fully enjoy the story of Divinity: Original Sin 2. Larian Studios has structured the story of this second chapter so that even the players that for the first time and arrived in this saga can enjoy the setting and the narrative context of the story.

The charm of Divinity: Original Sin 2 is the relationship between character and magic. If in the first chapter the use of magic was the basis of certain dynamics, for the first few moments following this, the magic is completely forbidden, due to a hatred of the holders of the affinity to the source, the source of magical power.

This gimmick is not rewarding only the pure narration, but lets give it a sort of basic tutorial that, in addition to insert in full in the dynamics of the game, it helps us to become familiar with some of the mechanics of the title. Divinity: Original Sin 2 since its first contact with the players and showed how the game environment is a component often essential to be able to better address the clashes; from the explosive barrels to the combination of the different abilities of our party, our creativity is stirred by a variety of options allow to give life to of the tactics are really interesting.

The care that is taken by the development team in the combat system is deep, enhance a turn-based combat that pushes the player to take the time to study how to optimize your arsenal. The Skill Points are not many, and often you can choose to sacrifice a move in a turn before they can use a more powerful attack in the next, in order to deal with the clash from a position of advantage. Often in RPGS neglect the tactical approach of the clashes, but Larian wanted to offer the players the opportunity to show your acumen and put yourself to the test, by providing the appropriate tools.

To be clear, combat in Divinity: Original Sin 2 it's a hard life, you can make a fight apparently perfect for being defeated at the last by an opponent pulls out a spell devastating. Larian Studios has chosen to introduce a different management of the armor, improving the feature present in the first chapter; before taking any damage (except for special attacks, mainly from the magical nature), our armor will absorb the bulk of the damage, but through some skills (such as Fortify) we will be able to recharge the bar in red armor, and the preservation of our precious life points!

Another interesting innovation is the introduction of the Memory, a value that determines the number of skills that our character can draw on his adventure. If earlier it was enough to increase the value of the knowledge of a particular school of magic to have more spells at your disposal, now you need to keep in mind the Memory, that is true, not only for spells but also for the martial prowess. It seems easy, but going forward with the adventure this limitation becomes yet another challenge to our character, the selection between the different skills is impressive, and this translates into a careful analysis of the progress of our party, so having a team of heroes, the more heterogeneous as possible.

Only flaw in the combat is the camera, which at times becomes almost an insurmountable obstacle for the evaluation tactic of the battle ground. The problem is that in some situations makes all the difference, especially in the case of fights with groups of enemies; from the beginning of Early Access, Divinity: Original Sin 2 attempted to remedy this flaw, still there are situations in which the problem occurs, but with the arrival of the release of the definitive previsa for September 14, beginning to fear that this is the issue that will also mark the debut of the final form of Divinity: Original Sin 2, also, if the support of Larian Studios to its own community, has already shown how the development team does not leave back any defect, putting remedy!

To be able to optimize the best use of all these potentials, we need to do well on the first step typical of an rpg: character creation. In this, Divinity: Original Sin 2 has taken the good things done in the first chapter, and it has enriched. The choice of race (human, elves or lizards) has a central importance in the function of the future class, where the bonus racial to compensate for any penalties, or give the most impact to the class bonus.

To do this, you need to add the tag social of the character. This is a feature-smart, is designed to offer to our alter ego, a series of alternatives in a phase of dialogue with the NPC's and even party members, unlocking of the lines of dialogue unique that allow you to have new quests, or information that is otherwise not obtainable. Given the rich narrative structure of Divinity: Original Sin 2 this function social is an immense wealth, mainly dedicated to the lovers of role-playing games on paper and to those who want to feel a fundamental part of the game world!

A similar system needs a graphic that enhances the game world and also from a visual point of view. Divinity was already a beautiful revelation, but with Original Sin 2 we are opposite an improvement to this item. The style is almost cartoonish, with the physicality a little realistic but still have their charm, compared to all the graphic style of the title, is enriched by a vibrant coloration with a remarkable variety of colour and soul to the various environments.

Final touch on the portfolio of audio, including music, ambience and sound effects are unique, offers the player of Divinity: Original Sin 2 a total immersion in the setting. Think, even we can select, when creating the character, the theme, which will accompany us throughout the adventure!

Larian Studios is able to give his saga a new expressive force, that stands to retain as much of the good previously seen, making considerable improvements and continuing a narrative that creates a fantasy world new and exciting. Divinity: Original Sin 2 is another one of those titles that demonstrates how the program Early Acces ( which was also released this little masterpiece of Endless Space 2) put in direct contact with the developers and the gamers, giving way to the two parties to work together to create a must have!!!
