King and Gerad had previously already collaborated on Mister Miracle, even winning an Eisner. Shaner, however, can be remembered for Future Quest, Flash Gordon and The Terrifics.

Strange Adventures debuted for the first time in DC in the ’50s, providing an outlet to the editor to tell the new titles of science fiction with characters like Deadman, Adam Strange and Atomic Knights. The series has received numerous revival since 1999, the most recent a one-shot in 2011.

Strange Adventures will be another series of twelve numbers, such as the series of King and Gerads for Mister Miracle.

“For me, 12 numbers are perfect,” she told King ComicBook.com at the beginning of this year. “It's a nice length, and you can sit and read it in six hours if you want, or if you're reading number by number, you know that next year you will receive a new one. This is the format that I like most, because it seems to me that you're writing a novel”.

Strange Adventures will begin in 2020.
