Legends of Tomorrow, he will say goodbye to two members of the cast in season 5, since it has been confirmed that Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford will abandon the series. Having made his debut in season 3 of Arrow, Routh is the past to the Legends of Tomorrow from the first episode. As Ray Palmer, otherwise known as The Atom, the actor is then a key member of the cast. In season 4, having been possessed by the demon Neron, he was also the main antagonist for a certain number of episodes. Ford, instead, joined the show in season 3, to be then promoted as a regular character in season 4, joining officially to the heroes and deepening his bond with Ray.
According to Deadline, season 5 will be the swan song for the two characters. The rest of the stories of Ray and Nora seem to have reached a natural conclusion. The executive producers of the show, Phil Klemmer, Grianne Godfree and Keto Shimizu stated that “Brandon and Courtney have been members invaluable of the family Legends. They have always brought a level of passion and collaboration in their characters and the show – both on and off the screen – that we admire deeply and for which we will be eternally grateful”. The producers of the show have also made it clear that the door, of course, is always open for them, adding that “it is never really a goodbye”.
Season 5 of the Legends of Tomorrow will be presented in preview in January 2020.
