Craig Federighi talks about the new MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar and the absence of the touch display [Video]
Apple has recently unveiled its new MacBook Pro with the innovative Touch Bar. Has discussed this matter with CNET Craig Federighi, SVP of Apple.
After the presentation of the new notebook of the competition, as the Surface Book i7, Microsoft, many users have expressed their disappointment for the lack of a touchscreen display on the new MacBook Pro. In this regard, Federighi says (from minute 2:31, ed) that Apple has in the past designed several prototypes of the notebook-touchscreen (fully working!), but none of these has impressed so much that the executives of the company will prompt them to bring them to the market.
In the interview Federighi discusses the utility of the Touch Bar, as it may be functional for the users, “pro”, and not only. It is a tool that allows you to perform actions quickly, with commands that vary depending on the software that you are using. Minutes were devoted also to the Touch ID, for the first time implemented on a MacBook.
