Chimera is the new project of Mamoru Oshii, the director of the Story and Ghost in the Shell
As announced through the pages of volume 13 of the series of novels of the same name of the master, Baku Yumemakura (The Peak Of the gods), Mamoru Oshii, famous film director in the Story, in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell, will deal with the transposition into film of animation of the Chimera.
It has not been yet specified the role of the director – whether director, writer or producer.

Chimera tells the story of the vicissitudes of Ko Otori, a high school student ordinary, which dreams recurrently of being devoured by a beast that dwells inside of him. When he meets Reiichi Kuki, a student who controls his school, the powers hidden within Ko you will awaken.
The master Yumemakura has launched Chimera in 1982 and the first edition consists of 16 volumes released by the publisher Asahi Sonorama until 2002, with cover illustrations signed by master Yoshitaka Amano (Vampire Hunter D).
Asahi Shimbun Publications is currently publishing a new edition of the series with illustrations by Katsuya Terada (Blood: The Last Vampire).
