Children of the Whales, the debut of the manga spin-off

The number 5 of the magazine Mystery Bonita published by Akita Shoten, out Friday 6 April 2018 in Japan, saw the debut of a manga spin-off of the series, Children of The Whales (Kujira no Kora wa Sajo ni Utau, The Sons of the Whales Sing on the Sand) of Abi Umeda.

It is a 4-koma humorous setting of the school called Kujira no Kora wa Sajo ni Manabu! (The Sons of the Whales Learn about the Sand!) and made by Ebi Umeda, the younger sister of the Umeda.

The spin-off has the same title of the two OVA included in the home edition video of the transposition of the animated manga main, available in Italian on Netflix.

In our Country the original manga of Abi Umeda, serialized on Mystery Bonita from 2013 (11 volumes so far), is in course of publication for Edizioni Star Comics (4 volumes so far):

“The world has been completely covered by a boundless sea of sand. Most of the people that live on the Whale of the mud, a giant ship floating adrift, is equipped with the ability to use the “thymia”, an extraordinary power generated by the feelings. The downside of this power is sentenced to an extremely short life...

The young Chakuro is intended, as all the inhabitants of the Whale, to spend their existence in that place, isolated from the rest of the world. One day, however, finished on the wreck of another floating island, he meets a mysterious girl...”
