The new promo of the series introduces one of the new characters introduced in the sequel, Akiho. Akiho, voiced by Minori Suzuki, is a foreign exchange student who recently transferred into the school of Sakura:

In the promo, Sakura says she and Akiho are very similar. In response, Akiho asks if the two could be friends. Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-Hen will be aired in Japan on the 7th of January and it was confirmed for the duration of 26 episodes, which means that the series will be able to deal with a longer history and therefore be more satisfying for the fans. In Italy, Edizioni Star Comics has published the series in the original manga Cardcaptor Sakura; Yamato Video will release the first animated film on DVD, and for the first time also on Blu-ray Disc.

CLAMP launched the manga sequel to Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card in June 2016; the manga follows the adventures of Sakura in middle school. After a prophetic dream about a mysterious figure, the cards, Sakura becomes completely helpless. Sakura and his friends embark on a mission to find out what's wrong. Together with its guardians and protectors, Cerberus and Yue, Sakura must find and capture the cards transparent by using a new and much more strong.

The original characters will return all, but they will be all the more great. The director of the series and original films of the ’90s by Morio Asaka returns to directing for the new series for Madhouse. Nanase Ohkawa of CLAMP has taken care of the composition of the series and contributed to the script. The director of the animation for the previous series and the movie, Kunihiko Hamada is the character designer and Mokona of the CLAMP deals with the design of costumes and cards. Masafumi Mima will be the sound director, and Takayuki Negishi is composing the music. Also Maaya Sakamoto will return to perform the opening song, CLEAR.

The original series of the ’90s will also get a remaster in 4K in Japan. The set of 11 discs presents the two seasons of the anime: the whole “Clow Card”, 46 episodes, from April 1998 to June 1999, and the arc of the “Sakura Card”, of 24 episodes, from September 1999 to march 2000.
