Candyman: the cast of the sequel
The film Candyman Jordan Peele has started production, with the complete cast is now confirmed. Based on the story by Clive Barker, The Forbidden, Candyman – Terror behind the mirror was a success when it debuted in theaters in 1992, so as to benefit from the two sequels.
From that moment, the Candyman has become a cult for the story its basic: Helen Lyle is a university student who conducts research on the folklore and modern. While the interview of the guys, learns of a legend known as Naceur, the son of a slave who was brutally tortured and killed. Fortunately, that someone is Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele. There have been many rumors for the new film Candyman, but now, thanks to a press release from MGM, the fans can be sure that the production of the film is in progress and the complete cast has been confirmed. At the edge of the so-called “spiritual sequel” (an expression of which we do not yet know the meaning) we are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Us), Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits) and Colman Domingo (Euphoria).
Filming will take place entirely in Chicago, and, in addition to the above-mentioned members of the cast, will also star the original Candyman Tony Todd – who played the murderous Candyman, as was revealed by the same actor. The new film is directed by Nia DaCosta. For his part, Peele wrote the script with Win Rosenfeld, responsible for the executive production of BlacKkKlansman of Spike Lee. Peele and Rosenfeld are also executive producers.
