Bright 2: Netflix has found a director
Netflix is continuing the production of Bright 2 after it hired Louis Leterrier to replace David Ayer as a director.
The original Bright was one of the first potential franchise Netflix to have a large budget when it was launched in 2017. The film saw Will Smith in the role of the official LAPD Daryl Ward and Joel Edgerton in the role of his partner, Nick, Jakoby, with their strange collaboration at the centre of the film. David Ayer has directed the film after the Suicide Squad and Bright has left the door open for other stories related to the film.
Bright has been a huge success for Netflix when it was launched almost three years ago, piling up 11 million views in the first three days after its debut. Accordingly, Netflix has ordered a sequel that would bring together Smith and Edgerton, but the film has had difficulty in the production with the commitments of Smith. The writer de beauty and The beast, with Evan Spiliotopoulos was hired to write the script and Ayer wanted to direct the movie at the beginning of 2020.
However, now the Louis Leterrier has been hired to direct Bright 2 and succeed in Ayer, according to a new report of Deadline. The farewell of Ayer is the result of the fact that it is too busy with other projects. The new director will direct Bright 2, based on a screenplay re-written by the screenwriter of the trilogy of The Maze Runner T. S. Nowlin, who seems to take the film on an international stage. The hope for Netflix is filming the sequel as soon as possible.
The addition of Leterrier represents the purchase of a director with experience having directed the series The Transporter Jason Statham and The Incredible Hulk for Marvel Studios, as well as other successful films such as Now You See Me.
