Boogiepop Phantom will have a new anime series
The event “Dengeki Bunko 25th Anniversary & New Work Unveiling the Stage” during the Dengeki Game Festival 2018 has been announced that a new anime tv show based on the light novel Boogiepop and Others (Boogiepop wa Warawanai) of the author Kouhei Kadono and illustrator Kouji Ogata has been approved for this year:
The new anime will present a cast different from that of previous television version of 2000:
Aoi Yūki as Tōka Miyashita / Boogiepop
Saori Ōnishi as Nagi Kirima
Kadokawa has opened a Web site and a Twitter account for the anime.
Shingo Natsume (One-Punch Man, Space Dandy, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.) directs the new anime of Madhouse. Tomohiro Suzuki (One-Punch Man, Tiger & Bunny, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.) he is writing and supervising the scripts of the series, and Hidehiko Sawada (animator key for One-Punch Man, Redline) is designing the characters. The musician kensuke ushio (Space Dandy, A Silent Voice, DEVILMAN crybaby) is composing the music.
Seven Seas Entertainment, which has published the light novel in English, describes the history thus:
There is an urban legend that children tell the story of one shinigami that can release people from the pain they can suffer. This “Angel of death” has a name: Boogiepop. And the legends are true. Boogiepop is real.
When a wave of disappearances involving some female students at Shinyo Academy, the police and faculty assume that they have only a group of fugitives in their hands. But Nagi Kirima is not in agreement. Something mysterious is going on. Boogiepop, or something more sinister ...?
Madhouse has previously animated the series of light novel Boogiepop in an anime television show of the 2000's, have arrived in Italy thanks to Dynit.
