Avatar 2: Kate Winslet has joined the cast of the sequel
James Cameron has announced that Kate Winslet will join officially in the cast of the Avatar sequels, playing a character named Ronal
The production of four sequels to Avatar began last week and, after having shown the young actors who will interpret the sons of Jake and Neytiri Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, James Cameron has announced the entry into the cast of an actress and old friend: Kate Winslet.
Here are the words of the director, issued on the occasion of an interview with Deadline:

Who is Ronal? We don't have the faintest idea, but considering the caliber of the actress, as well as the esteem that Cameron's evidence against him, we can safely assume that there will be an important character for the sequel of Avatar.
Avatar 2 is being written by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Shane Salerno, along with James Cameron, who will again be behind the camera.
In the cast we find Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Britain Dalton, Filip Geljo, Jamie Flatters, Bailey Bass, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Duane Evans Jr and Kate Winslet.
The first of the four sequels of the original film of 2009 will be released in the month of December in the year 2020, followed by the other films sequel in 2021, 2024 and 2025.
