ASUS presents ZenBook 3, a MacBook for Windows users [Video]
During the conference, Computex 2016 in Taipei, ASUS has introduced the notebook ZenBook 3, a direct competitor to the MacBook Retina 12" of Apple. The laptop of the taiwanese company is thinner, lighter and presumably faster than the colossus of Cupertino.
The first thing to impress the ZenBook 3 is its form factor, in particular the often of 11.9 millimeters. In addition, the chassis of the notebook is a aluminum extremely light, material that ‘justifies’ the only 2 pound laptop.
Thickness and weight as well reduced might make you think of a particular frailty of the notebook, but it is not so. ASUS has said that the ZenBook 3 is much more durable than many other devices rivals currently on the market.
The ZenBook 3 has a display of 12" edge-to-edge with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The frame on the display is present, but it measures only 7.6 mm. The laptop comes with Windows 10 (Home or Pro version), in versions with Intel Core i5 processor or Core i7 and 16GB of RAM. Users can also choose to customize your own notebook at the time of purchase with a SSD from 512GB or with a SSD, with a 1TB PCIe Gen 3.
As well as the most recent MacBook, the ZenBook 3 has a single USB Type-C for charging the device and connecting accessories and external devices.
The new portable high end signed ASUS offers 9 hours of battery life with one charge cycle, and can charge up to 60% in just 49 minutes. ZenBook 3 also features a backlit keyboard and a sensor of fingerprints for biometric security.
ZenBook 3 will be available in three different colours: Royal Blue, Rose Gold and Quartz Grey. The notebook will arrive on the market in the third quarter of 2016, with a starting price of 999$ for the entry-level version with Intel Core i5 processor.
