Arrowverse: the crossover will be called “Elseworlds”, will appear on the Monitor

The CW has finally announced the title of the epic crossover of the Arrowverse planned for next year: it will be “Elseworlds”, which to readers of DC Comics reminds that group of stories outside the continuity the comics, able over the years to offer works of the highest level. The title would seem, therefore, to suggest, more of an alternate universe (and in part already introduced with the Multiverse and the various Lands) an alternate timeline, despite the fact that there are at the moment more details.

Clues about the plot, however, could give the addition to the cast of the Monitor: The CW has also announced its entry into the cast of the crossover of the actor LaMonica Garrett, in the role of the extraterrestrial has a great power, Mar Novu (called Monitor). In the comics, the character was created (by Marv Wolfman and George Perez in 1982) to orchestrate the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, combining the heroes of the Multiverse to face the wave of anti-matter the Anti-Monitor.

It is likely, therefore, that the Crisis on Infinite Earths is used to introduce the best of the Batwoman, which as we all know, not only will appear in the crossover, but will enter to full title in the Arrowverse a few months after the event, with its series of stand-alone. This is the first description of the character of Ruby Rose (as reported by That Hashtag Show):

“Kate is aware of how charismatic and dangerous when he enters a room full of people; whether he prefers to smile, the young Kane is physically and intellectually proud to be a woman, and openly gay. However, Kate still fights with his inner demons, dating back to the complicated relationship with his father and continue the fight to get his respect and trust. In the past aspired to have a brilliant military career and dreams sadly broken when it is expelled from West Point once you exit the closet, and despite this it has not prevented to become a fighter against crime, known by the name of Batwoman. Taking advantage of the fear in the criminals he fights, Kate clashes constantly with the complications of living a double life, both as a town and as a heroine of Gotham, and protect himself with the shield of the costume on crime-fighting, and being rather vulnerable in the situations romantic with other women.”
As we know, Tyler Hoechlin will dress up as Superman and bring with him of Lois Lane. Finally then, Oliver and Barry will have the chance to fight at the side of the Man of Steel, due to the presence of Clark for all three episodes of the crossover.

With regard to Lois, to interpret it will be Elizabeth Tulloch, who in addition to demonstrating on Instagram all of his excitement for the imminent work together with her friend Danielle Panabaker and Tyler Hoechlin reveals how the historical interpretation of Margot Kidder as Lois was by her, in the beginning, very much appreciated and a source of inspiration.

Excuse me while I fangirl for a moment: I am so excited (thank you Warner Brothers, the CW, DC Comics, @gberlanti, @davidrapaport, Jessica Queller et al) to be playing the iconic Lois Lane on the Arrowverse crossover episodes. And I can't wait to work with my friend @dpanabaker and of course @tylerhoechlin 😉 When I started acting, one of my teachers asked me to watch the screen tests for the role of Lois Lane for 1978's Superman. All of the actresses were terrific, but it was always clear to me why Margot Kidder won the role: she seemed lit from within, full of joie de vivre. Now, at a time when the noble profession of journalism feels under siege, it's a privilege to join the club of actresses who have played the dogged reporter. As far back as 1938 when she first appeared in Action Comics #1, Lois Lane has defied and subverted society's expectations of how women should behave. She was portrayed as opinionated, inquisitive, and an unapologetically badass career woman at a time when many representations of women leaned more towards meek and demure. One of the reasons the character has signs of so compelling for the last 80 years is that she has all these formidable, strong-willed qualities, but she's also vulnerable, romantic, and feminine. A truly modern woman. ❤️

Earlier, interviewed by Digital Spy, some of the stars of the Arrowverse have tried to describe the event without going into all the details, stressing that this time you will learn more about psychology and personal history of the individual protagonists.

“I can't say much, but when I described the project I thought it was fantastic. Last year was an event of monumental, no one can achieve something greater, we will focus therefore on the psychology of the characters and their history” the words of Amell, which then underline the different approach to this crossover compared to that of last year.

“Kara during the seasons he was able to do funny jokes about Batman and his thought, I am curious to see how it will interact with the Batwoman” explains Melissa Benoist.

This is finally the official poster of the event, with all the dates of the crossover:
