AREA 54: Duke Shelley, bet Peace
In the phase lethargic entertainment for the fans of the football Chicago has started to work, especially with the new arrivals from the Draft 2019 Nashville that seems to have already had a good impact in the dressing room.
Duke Shelley, called by Kansas State to replace the role of Bryce Callahan, passed almost entirely unnoticed in the Draft; the defender has not even been invited to the NFL Combine and someone asked why Ryan Pace has decided to focus on him. To strengthen the question, there is the fact that Shelley is physically smaller and less heavy compared to Callahan when he is out of college, but the tenacity of this underrated athlete may give a contribution useful to Chuck Pagano in the moment in which the new Defensive Coordinator will decide to use it as a slot player.
The senior year of Shelley has clearly shows the ability to read the game on launch, and the instinct of aggressive in coverage against the receivers: the Bears have seen all this and decided to bet a selection at the bottom of the draft, on the play cornerback twenty-two native of DeKalb County, Georgia.
In the challenge against Texas Tech last year's Duke Shelley has put in place a game very similar to that of Prince Amukamara against the Seattle Seahawks, but from the side instead of the field, and with a little more tenacity: the result is a pick-6 ripped with muscles to the receiver, and the idea that all of this can pleasure and inspire the mentality, aggressive Chuck Pagano and his defense 3-4 voted to the blitz of the mass.
Shelley is extremely responsive and quick to put pressure on the receivers and are therefore forced to the incomplete coverage of the CB extending over the medium and short-range could really be an ace up the sleeve in some moments of the season.
The grit is not missing, and if Peace has chosen Shelley, after having seen tons of films on the play cornerback of the college of half America, is because the young product of the K State has all the cards in rule to give the fuel for the super defense of Chicago.
This is a good bet, one of those that like Peace!
To finish, two words about the “triple doink” that has sent KO the Philadelphia basketball in Toronto after that the tile from the corner pulled by Kawhi Leonard has eliminated the 76ers against the underdogs: the karma seems to have turned its back on the city of brotherly love after the double pole of Cody Parkey in the Wild Card game was made a mockery of Chicago and his kicker.
The Windy City thanks to the Raptors!
