Apple works on a new TV series starring Chris Jacob
The star of “Captain America” Chris Evans has signed an agreement with Apple for a new TV series called “Defending Jacob”.
As reported by Variety, Defending Jacob will be a miniseries based on the bestselling novel of 2012, written by William Landay.
This is the plot of the book:
Andy Barber, for more than twenty years the right arm of the district attorney, is a respected man, a devoted husband and father, and has before him a secure career. Knows what can hide in a person's life, such as faults can be silenced, but his is a serene existence and the love for his wife and son has no limits. Everything seems to go right for him and his family. But certain beliefs are sometimes exposed to the whims of fate or the consequences of small actions. So, one day, almost by chance, falls upon them an accusation unheard of: the son of Andy, Jacob, little more than a child, is being investigated for a murder. Her classmate has been stabbed in the park just before the start of lessons. The boy proclaims his innocence, and Andy believes him. But there is something that does not come back, the plant of the accusations is pretty damn convincing: and if something had escaped the attention of Andy? And if the fourteen years of the life of the child were not sufficient to understand who he really is? And if Jacob, his son, was in the end a murderer?
The role of Andy Barber will be played by Chris Evans, for a further TV series, sponsored by Apple.
