Apple will fund six original movies a year that aspire to Oscar

Apple is looking to boost its offering of original content with about six films of small budget, a year that could win an Oscar.

Apple has launched Apple TV, a new service that combines in a single place and TV programs and original movies. According to the New York Post says that Apple wants to spend between $ 5- $ 30 million on a handful of shows with aspirations for nominations and Oscar prizes.

This budget is apparently separate from the agreement signed by Apple with the film studio A24. That collaboration has already led to the production of a film called “On the Rocks“.

The post says that the division of the original movies Apple is run by Matt Dentler, who has directed iTunes Movies until the end of 2018.

While the pitch of Apple for the Apple TV+ a march was focused on exclusive and original, the post claims that the tech giant is thinking of buying a catalog alternative content to watch for are the people that exhaust the selection of original content from Apple.

Of course, Apple TV + will be compared with services like Netflix and Disney, Plus that have large libraries of content. As announced, Apple TV + will be launched with approximately 30 TV shows and movies.

Apple TV+ will be launched by the end of the year. The company has not yet released pricing information for the product if not to describe it as a subscription service. At the beginning of the keynote of WWDC, Apple showed its first trailer in a series of science fiction call For All Mankind.
