Apple sends the leaders of the Toronto International Film Festival
The Apple executives responsible for the video activity of the company will participate in the Toronto International Film Festival this week to seek out and evaluate potential acquisitions of film. And this is how reports Variety.
The report says that at least one of the top leaders of the Apple industry, perhaps Jamie Erlicht, or Zack Van Hamburg, will present at the festival in search of new content that can fill the catalogue of an upcoming entertainment service. The Toronto International Film Festival will start today and will run until Sunday 16 September.
This event marks the first time that Apple executives participating in the film festival. The company from Cupertino will definitely be in competition with another giant, Amazon, which will be at the festival to collect new contents to be acquired among the 342 films that will be screened.
The rumors and the rumors recently suggested that Apple has plans to launch some sort of service in streaming-style Netflix, with some original content. There are still more details and then we will update you as soon as we know more about it.
