The University of Naples Federico II, has today published the tender for the selection of students who will participate in the third year of the Apple Developer Academy. This year will be about 400 places available for young entrepreneurs and future developers.
The Developer Academy is, as always, open to students from all over Italy and the world. The Italian students come from 16 different regions of the country and of the current students over 50 are women. By the summer of 2019 will be 1000 students trained at the Academy.
Students of the third year of the Apple Developer Academy will learn the skills of software development and will follow courses on the creation of startups and on the design of the app, with particular attention to the mode of cooperation between students for creating the app. It should also be noted that thanks to the investment of Apple the course is completely free and they will also be given all the necessary tools. Among these there will be a program designed by the technical experts and engineers of the company, as well as the hardware and software used at the Academy, including an iPhone and a Mac for each student.
With two million apps, the App Store has created an industry that was completely new, creating over 1.3 million jobs across Europe; nearly 15 billion were paid to developers for the sale of their apps in all over the world.
The selection process comes at the same time to the news that 42 students of the current course have been selected to participate in the WorldWide Developer Conference June, time in which the community of developers most creative in the world meet in California to share unique perspectives and have direct access to the innovations coming from Apple with regards to products and services.
Ash Thomas, of twenty-six English, student this year, calls the Academy “a truly unique experience in life to explore new ideas, and collaborate with innovative minds that come from all over the world,” and adds, “it Is the ideal place to immerse yourself in the idea of design and learn in a way that has no equal. I would recommend the Academy to anyone who wants to learn to develop apps for mobile devices, or to anyone who wishes to follow a career in the field of technology or design.“
To participate students must fill out an application online and the best candidates will be invited to take a test and to attend for an interview in one of the cities in which it will be possible to do this (Naples, London, Munich or Paris). More information is available on the official website of the Academy. The deadline for the submission of applications is fixed at 8 June.
